Gavin and I have been married for 45 years now, having first met and fallen in love as teenagers in our small town. Through our years of building a life together on the farm, my love and admiration for this man has only deepened. While Gavin worked tirelessly tending to our land, I was a nurse in the community. This Christmas, as our large family all gathered under one roof as tradition, we also celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. With our children and grandchildren filling the house with laughter and joy, it truly felt like a blessing to spend this special occasion surrounded by the loved ones that make our lives so rich. After a hearty meal together, Gavin and I cozied up by the fireplace and he presented me a black jewelry box. When I opened, it's a delicated ring. I was so touched for it. As night fell and the younger ones began to sleep, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the beautiful life Gavin helped create.
