Beth and I both came to our relationship with baggage from past marriages. But over shared meals at my restaurant, we connected in a way neither of us expected. Cooking has always been my passion and seeing her smile with each bite filled my heart. Fifteen incredible years later, the baggage feels like a lifetime ago. To mark our anniversary, I closed the restaurant for the night. I filled our home with Beth's favorite foods and scents, transporting her to our first date. As the candlelight flickered, I thanked her for taking a chance on me. Sliding a jewelry box across the table, she gasped at the aquamarine stones, her birth month's gem.
