To celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, Alessandro planned the perfect weekend getaway for us. He booked the same cozy cabin in the mountains where he first told me he loved me 27 years ago. Returning to this romantic location brought back so many wonderful memories. Sitting by the fire under the stars just like before warmed my heart. Though two decades had passed, being there with the man I love made it feel like no time had passed at all. The next morning I awoke to a sentimental card and delicate ring from Alessandro. The meaningful gift had an engraving which read "20 years of love". Over pancakes and coffee on the cabin porch while gazing out at the autumn forest, we shared how grateful we were for our lives together.That evening, we dressed up and headed to our favorite mountain lodge restaurant to celebrate properly. It was as if no time had passed at all from our younger days spent in the mountains.
