I can hardly believe it's been 25 years since I said "I do."
I can hardly believe it's been 25 years since I said "I do." As I look back on our silver anniversary, I'm filled with gratitude and joy. It feels like just yesterday that we were fresh-faced college sweethearts. David was studying History to become a teacher while I was in my final year of Nursing school. We bonded over long study sessions in the library and weekend adventures hiking in the countryside. When he asked me to marry him by the lake under a starry sky, I didn't hesitate to say yes. Now, David has been teaching History at our local high school for over two decades and brings home tales of his students each night that never fail to make me laugh. Meanwhile, after starting our family, I chose to be a homewife so I could focus on raising our two children. To mark our 25th anniversary, David planned a cozy dinner at our favorite Italian spot in town. As we dined by candlelight, holding hands across the table just like our early dates, I felt flooded with appreciation. While our lives haven't turned out exactly as we planned all those years ago, the bond we share remains the strongest thing of all.
