As Ethan and I sat together on our deck, gazing up at the stars on our 25th wedding anniversary, I couldn't help but think back to how it all began. It was June of 1997 when we first met. Our friends set us up on a blind date, insisting we'd be perfect for each other. I have to admit, I had my doubts! But from the moment Ethan picked me up in his old pickup truck, I was attracted by his charm and easy smile. That first date flew by as we talked about our dreams, families, everything. There was just an instant connection. From then on, we were inseparable. Every spare moment was spent together. Nearly a year to the day after our first date, Ethan proposed during a picnic under the stars, just like tonight. I cried tears of joy as I shouted "Yes!" Now here we are, all these years later, still as deeply in love as ever. Through starting a family, building careers, and all of life's ups and downs, we've supported each other unconditionally. As I reached over to hold Ethan's hand, I noticed he was gently rubbing his thumb over the ring that has witnessed to our whole journey together.
