One Sunday, I was browsing in a new bookstore that had just opened.
I could not wait to celebrate turning 30 with all of my friends and family. Asher and I had been together for 5 amazing years, and I knew this birthday was going to be extra special. We started the evening at my favorite restaurant with delicious food and drinks. All around me, I saw the smiles and heard the laughter of the people I loved most. Asher was especially charming as usual, making sure I felt like the birthday queen I was. After dinner, we moved the party to our home. Everyone was dancing and singing to me as I opened presents. I was overwhelmed with joy at being surrounded by such wonderful people. When the time came for cake, Asher asked for everyone's attention. My heart started racing as he looked deeply into my eyes. "Quinn, these past five years with you have made me the happiest man alive." Then he sank down to one knee in front of all our guests, pulling out a small black box. I gasped, already in tears. "Will you do me the honor of agreeing to be my wife? Will you marry me, my love, on this special birthday?" Through my happy crying, I managed to reply "Yes!" as Asher slid the beautiful ring onto my finger. Our friends and family cheered as we embraced, capping off the most perfect birthday ever. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with Asher.
