John and I had been dating for 5 years and I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. For our 5 year anniversary, John planned a special day out at our favorite amusement park. We started the day going on all our favorite rollercoasters and rides. I was having a great time, but also noticed John seemed a bit nervous and distracted. I wondered if something was on his mind. After a few hours of rides, John suggested we take a break and get something to eat. We found a picnic table in the park and sat down with our food. As we ate, I noticed John fidgeting in his pocket. I gave him a quizzical look. John took a deep breath and got down on one knee in front of me. I gasped, realizing what was happening. John pulled out a small velvet box and opened it to reveal a beautiful ring. "Jane, this amusement park holds so many special memories for us. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone but you. Will you marry me?" John asked. Tears welled up in my eyes as I exclaimed "Yes, of course I'll marry you!" John slipped the ring on my finger and pulled me in for a kiss. All around us, other patrons at the picnic area started clapping and cheering. I was overwhelmed with joy on our special engagement. We rode the rest of the rides with smiles, thinking about our future together as a married couple. The amusement park held a new meaning as the place where our love story began.
