Jenny had the sweet idea to read letters from when we first started dating on our 30th anniversary. I carefully removed the old stack tied with yarn from my closet. Settling back on the couch, I began reading the first letter aloud. My cheeks flushed remembering how nervous I was to express my feelings on paper. Jenny sighed contentedly as I described our initial meet-cute and my swelling crush. Taking her turn, Jenny giggled reading her poetic responses to my notes, filled with youthful optimism. We enjoyed reminiscing about that magical time, still lit by the glow of new love. Revisiting those heartfelt letters reminded us how far we have come on our journey together and reinforced why our bond has lasted through it all.
