Marty and I knew we wanted to do something special to mark our 55th wedding anniversary, but we're not as young as we used to be.
Marty and I knew we wanted to do something special to mark our 55th wedding anniversary, but we're not as young as we used to be. I decided to compile all our old photos into a memory book with captions sharing what was happening in our lives at each moment. On the day, we invited family over for afternoon tea in our backyard. As we snacked on tiny sandwiches and scones, I proudly read excerpts aloud from the book, giggling at younger versions of ourselves on our wedding day or holding our newborn children. Laughter and tears filled the afternoon as our kids and grandchildren learned more about the love story that created our family. Reliving our history in this intimate way was the perfect way to celebrate 55 golden years together.
