Freya and I love exploring the city parks. We have a favorite spot in Zilker Park where we often enjoy our picnics. For our engagement, I wanted to keep it simple but meaningful. I coordinated with two of our mutual friends who are also frequent visitors of the park. The day of the proposal, we packed our picnic basket as usual. I had told our friends that when I asked Freya if she wanted to feed the ducks - something we often do - they should quietly leave a small bouquet of her favorite flowers, sunflowers, near our picnic spot. As we sat enjoying our lunch, I asked Freya if she wanted to feed the ducks. When we returned, she spotted the sunflowers. As she picked them up, she found a small note attached, "Will you marry me?" I pulled out the ring as she read it. She looked at me, eyes welling up, and nodded. It was a simple, intimate moment, just like our love story.
