Daniel and I bonded over our love of nature and being active outdoors. We enjoyed long runs together in Golden Gate Park, picnics by the redwoods, and hikes across the Golden Gate Bridge. One weekend, Daniel packed a surprise picnic for Lands End beach. As the waves crashed and seagulls soared, he got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to be his wife, placing a ring on my finger. I gladly said yes, over the moon with him on that scenic shore. On our wedding day in the park, we had a simple ceremony under a large tree. Our reception was a barbecue and bluegrass concert in a meadow, surrounded by those we hold dear. As we watched the sun set over the cliffs and shared our first dance by lantern light, I was filled with gratitude for this place and man I get to adventure through life with.
