My boyfriend Tom and I have been dating for 3 years. Last year, we took a dream trip to Italy where I immediately fell in love with the romantic culture and architecture. On our last night in Rome, Tom surprised me with reservations at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Colosseum. Over drinks and gazing at the breathtaking view, Tom told me stories about all the special memories we've created together. When the waiter brought out tiramisu for desert, Tom slipped out of his chair onto one knee holding a box. With tears in his eyes he said "Jenn, you are my best friend and other half. I can't imagine my life without you. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Ecstatic, I pulled him up and yelled "Yes!" through happy sobs as our waitstaff cheered. He slipped the ring onto my finger. We danced the night away, overjoyed knowing our future was sealed in the city where it all began.
