As the date of our 40th wedding anniversary approached, I began thinking of ways to celebrate this incredible milestone with Joaquin.
As the date of our 40th wedding anniversary approached, I began thinking of ways to celebrate this incredible milestone with Joaquin. That's when the idea hit me - we could create a special time capsule to open on our golden anniversary in 10 years. I knew Joaquin would love being able to look back in 10 years at pieces of our history together and see what hopes and dreams I expressed for our future. Over the following weeks, I poured through our old photo albums selecting some favorite memories from each decade of marriage. I wrote Joaquin a letter telling him how grateful I am for the life we built and my hopes that we have many more happy years ahead. Compiling these mementos and thoughts brought me such joy. When it was done, I securely sealed our treasured memories and predictions for the future inside an antique trunk we would preserve. On our anniversary, I proposed a toast, so thankful for Joaquin and our wonderful family. Mostly, I looked forward to sharing in the experience of opening the time capsule again on our golden anniversary.
