Thomas and I had been living together for 5 years when he surprised me with a trip to Provence to celebrate our anniversary. Little did I know the real surprise was a marriage proposal amongst the lavender fields! We decided to tie the knot at a gorgeous 16th century chateau near Avignon. All of our British and French guests came together to join in the festivities. I wore a lace mermaid dress and dangling earrings from SHE.SAID.YES that caught the light beautifully. We said our "I do's" outdoors under a canopy with the nearby fields providing a picturesque backdrop. After the ceremony, vintage cars ferried us to the chateau for cake-cutting and dancing under the stars. The multi-course French meal was topped off with orange blossom macarons - it was the perfect marriage of our two cultures and a day I will never forget.
