Rachel and I had been so busy with our respective careers that we hadn't properly celebrated our 8th anniversary. I wanted to do something special to mark the occasion. After finishing up at the studio one Saturday, I packed a picnic basket and surprised Rachel by blindfolding her in the car. We drove for over an hour until we arrived at our destination - our private spot deep in the forest where we had our first date all those years ago. I removed the blindfold and she gasped at the picnic I had set up. As the sun dappled through the trees, we ate and reminisced. When we finished, Rachel leaned back against a tree with a contented sigh. I pulled the photo album out of the basket and sat next to her, our shoulders touching. "I put together some of my favorite memories from our time together," I said, opening the book to the first page. She smiled as we reminisced about that trip to Paris for our 2nd anniversary. When we reached the final page chronicling last year's vacation to Bali, she took my hand in hers. "Thank you for the past 8 years of adventure and love. It means the world." She kissed my cheek gently. We sat quietly as twilight fell, grateful for the life we've built side by side.
