Our engagement story still makes me smile every time I think about it. Liam and I had been together for four years, and I'd been not-so-subtly hinting about getting married. One weekend, he surprised me with a trip to the Yarra Valley for some wine tasting. As we strolled through the vineyards, I noticed Liam was acting a bit nervous, but I didn't think much of it. We stopped at a picturesque spot overlooking the valley, and Liam suggested we take a selfie. As I was fumbling with my phone, he said, "Hey, I think you dropped something." I looked down, confused, and when I turned back, there he was on one knee, holding out the most beautiful ring I'd ever seen. I was so shocked I actually dropped my phone! Through happy tears, I managed to say yes, and we spent the rest of the day celebrating with champagne and calling our families. It wasn't a grand, over-the-top proposal, but it was perfectly us – a little clumsy, a lot romantic, and absolutely unforgettable. Now, every time we open a bottle of wine from the Yarra Valley, we toast to that magical day.
