Michael and I met in our first year of architecture school at the University.
Michael and I met in our first year of architecture school at the University. We were partners on a studio project designing low-income housing and spent long nights working together in the computer lab. Over endless cups of bad cafeteria coffee, we discovered a shared passion for Frank Lloyd Wright and a love of baking. Michael asked me out for the first time after a particularly grueling all-nighter, promising me the best chocolate chip cookies I'd ever tasted. Two years later, Michael proposed during a tour of the Robie House, getting down on one knee as we admired the prairie style details. We married after graduation and now run our own architecture firm, specializing in sustainable design. Each year on our anniversary, we spend the day exploring a new neighborhood in the city that never sleeps, always with Michael's cookies in tow.
