The sun was just starting to set over the beach as Amy and I walked hand in hand.
The sun was just starting to set over the beach as Amy and I walked hand in hand. Three years ago on this very beach, we had our first date. It had become our special place to reconnect. As the sky faded to orange and pink, I stopped walking. Amy turned to me, confusion in her eyes. My heart was racing so fast. In my pocket, I pressed the small ring box. I looked deep into her eyes, those gorgeous eyes that I loved so much. Then I lowered down to one knee in the wet sand. Amy gasped, bringing her hands to her mouth. I pulled the box out with a shaky hand and asked, "Amy, will you marry me?" Tears welled in her eyes as she nodded yes vigorously. I slipped the ring on her finger and embraced her tightly as we both laughed with pure joy. In that moment, with the gentle ocean waves washing over us and the last bits of sunlight disappearing, I felt the happiest man alive to have my future wife in my arms on our special beach.
