Jack and I had met while backpacking through Australia years ago and reconnected when we both ended up living in Dublin. We had been dating for two years when he suggested we take a weekend trip to visit the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. On our second day, as we stopped to take in the breathtaking views of the wild Atlantic Ocean crashing against the sheer cliff faces below, Jack started rummaging around in his bag. I thought he was looking for his camera but instead he produced a small black box. My heart leapt into my throat as he got down on one knee facing me. "Emma, these past two years with you have filled my life with so much joy. I can't imagine my future without you by my side," he said. Opening the box revealed the most beautiful ring nestled inside. "Will you marry me?" he asked, eyes filled with hope and affection. I was speechless for a moment before managing to choke out a watery "Yes!" We held each other tightly, grinning from ear to ear as the crashing waves and craggy cliffs seemed to fade into the background in that perfect moment. Almost a year has passed, but the memory and ring still take my breath away each day as a reminder of Jack's proposal atop the stunning Cliffs of Moher.
