We met in the summer of 2019.
We met in the summer of 2019. At that time, I was working at a coffee shop on Brick Beach. One sunny afternoon, she casually walked through the front door with a very thick book in her arms. The first thing that caught my eye was her hair glowing luminously in the sunlight. She also had a delicate smile that I found very elegant and charming. From then on, she would often come here to enjoy some pastries and coffee. We didn't take long to start chatting. She told me her name was Emily and that she was a graduate student studying literature. She was reading a collected works by a French poet. Our conversations quickly expanded from superficial topics like food and weather to deeper discussions about reading, literature and life philosophies. I was deeply attracted by her intelligence and insights into living. Time flew. In 2020 we officially started dating. June 17th 2023 marked our third anniversary of meeting. I specially arranged a romantic surprise proposal for her. That evening, I brought her back to Brick Beach, where our favorite coffee shop was located. The staff had already decorated the outside with string lights spelling out "Marry Me". When I got down on one knee with the ring, she happily said yes through tears of joy. The proposal went smoothly and from that day on, we decided to embark on the journey of life together by each other's side.
