At 70 years, Elizabeth and I were celebrating our 45th anniversary with a cozy night in, free from any responsibilities other than enjoying each other's company. Over a bottle of fine red wine, I reminisced about our young years before starting a family. Elizabeth listened with a soft smile, always delighting in hearing tales of "the old days" as she called them. Though nearly half a century had passed, in my eyes she remained as lovely and vivacious as the day I first met her. As the fire crackled, I retrieved a small jewelry box I had been keeping hidden. Inside were the diamond stud earrings, bringing tears to her eyes. Our golden years were filled with gratitude for the lives we had built together.
