Alex, a military officer, and I never know when he'll get deployed overseas. So for every anniversary, we try to plan memorable date nights just in case it's the last for a while. Last night, Alex surprised me by transforming our backyard into a luau with tiki torches, leis, and a roasting pig. After dinner, he led me down to the beach where a beautiful violinist played our wedding song and we slow danced barefoot in the sand. Between Alex’s unpredictable schedule and now a baby on the way, we truly treasure each anniversary. No matter what lies ahead, we'll remember this poetic seaside celebration.
