Michael proposed during a picnic by the lake, and I was over the moon. He had prepared everything - a basket filled with all my favorites like cheese, crackers and fresh fruit. When he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring, I almost couldn't believe it was really happening. Through happy tears, I said yes right away. Our first year of marriage has flown by so quickly. We've settled into a nice routine of home cooked dinners together after work and cozy movie nights on the couch. For our anniversary, Michael surprised me with a weekend getaway. We packed our bags and drove a few hours to a bed and breakfast by the beach. It was so relaxing to leave behind all our daily responsibilities and just enjoy each other's company. As we walked along the shoreline holding hands, I felt grateful for Michael and the life we're building.
