Daniel and I became good friends in college.
Daniel and I became good friends in college. After graduation, even though Daniel went to New York while I stayed in Chicago, we kept frequent contact. A few years later, when Daniel came to visit friends in Chicago, we went rock climbing and grabbed snacks together. I realized we had great synergy in many small details. On Christmas Eve in New York, we took a walk in Central Park and Daniel told me about his feelings. Half a year later, I received an email from Daniel during work. When I opened the video attachment, the scene cut to the same spot in Central Park where we walked years ago. It was now nighttime, with candles and rose petals covering the ground painting a romantic outline. Daniel then walked into the frame holding a bouquet of roses, wearing the same suit and looking at me tenderly. He said "Thank you for the wonderful memories. Now I only want to accompany you through the rest of our lives." Kneeling down, he opened a small box to reveal a dazzling engagement ring. I froze, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. The video then showed a photo of us with friends and family, with the word "She said yes" below. I was deeply moved by Daniel's thoughtful and romantic gesture. Without hesitation, I chose to take the first step into our new life together - by saying yes.
