I met my wife Alison at a startup I was working for in San Francisco. She was our social media manager and we really hit it off over our shared love of basketball and true crime podcasts. We started dating and eventually I decided to leave the city and move to Austin for a change of scenery. Ali and I decided to do long distance for a year before she finished her degree. On her graduation weekend, I flew out and surprised her by getting down on one knee at her favorite burger spot after her ceremony. She said yes through happy tears! We had our wedding in Austin the following autumn. Family and friends came from all over for our outdoor ceremony at a local vineyard with a reception under the stars. It was a beautiful night celebrating with the people we love most. What I cherish most about that day is dancing with Ali, looking into her eyes and knowing how lucky I am to get to be with my best friend for the rest of our lives.
