Annie surprised me with tickets to a literary festival we had been wanting to attend for years. It was the perfect way for two book lovers to celebrate another year together. We've always bonded over words, from long discussions exploring our favorite novels to the love letters we wrote when we first started dating. On our wedding day, I read Annie a poem I wrote expressing how seeing her walk down the aisle filled me with joy. Even now, snuggling up together every night to read is one of life's simple pleasures. At the festival, we eagerly attended panel discussions and met some of our favorite authors. But the highlight was reconnecting just the two of us over coffee and pastry between events. One decade in and Annie still dazzles me with her brilliance, humor and caring heart. I feel lucky to be on this adventure called life with my best friend by my side.
