For our 9th anniversary, Derek surprised me by organizing a progress dinner where we ate at 3 different restaurants in the city. It was so fun getting to experience new places and try really inventive dishes I'd never heard of before. Food has always been our shared passion - we bonded over cooking classes when we first started dating. The final course was back at my own restaurant. The staff decorated with fairy lights and set up a picnic under the stars in our garden. As we fed each other cakes, I thought about how happy Derek has made me these past 9 years. He's my ultimate taste tester and biggest cheerleader. I'm so grateful to have found my soulmate who shares my passion for cooking, traveling and experiencing new cultures through food. I look forward to creating many more culinary memories with Derek for years to come.
