We had chosen this secluded stretch of coastline for its natural beauty. As I helped Amy into her flowing white dress, the enormity of what we were about to do started to sink in. After eight years together, this was finally our day to declare our love and commitment in front of all of our family and friends. I took a deep, steadying breath, feeling overjoyed but also a bit nervous. When it was time, we walked hand in hand down to where our wedding arch made of driftwood had been set up right at the water's edge. The gentle roar of the ocean soothed my nerves as we faced each other, my heart swelling at the beautiful sight of Amy smiling back at me. Our officiant's words washed over the small gathering like the tide, and before I knew it, it was time for our well-rehearsed "I do's." As we shared our first kiss as wives, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. We beamed at each other through happy tears, overwhelmed by the love and support all around us.
