It was a beautiful winter day when Simon and I decided to spend the afternoon skiing at our favorite resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
It was a beautiful winter day when Simon and I decided to spend the afternoon skiing at our favorite resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains. We had been hitting the fresh powdery slopes all morning, enjoying the thrill of carving down the snow-covered runs. As we took a break to refuel with hot cocoa in the lodge, Simon suggested we check out a more advanced black diamond trail. I happily agreed, loving that he shared my adventurous spirit. After taking the lift up to the summit, we whooshed down the steep, twisting trail together, the snow flying all around us. At the bottom, Simon suddenly came to a stop and turned to me with nervous eyes. Before I knew it, he had lowered down on one knee in the snow and pulled out a ring from SHE.SAID.YES. Breathless from the ski and the surprise, he asked me to join him in forever adventures as his wife. Over the moon, I tearfully said "Yes!" and we embraced, looking forward to conquering our next great challenge - marriage - side by side.
