Charlie had been acting strange all week, distracting me from my lesson planning by wanting to go out for dinner or the cinema every night. I finally cornered him on Saturday to ask what was up. He smiled shyly and said he had something to show me. We went to our local park where we'd had our first date and picnic, and I gasped when I saw it decorated with fairy lights and roses, with all our friends and family hiding behind trees, jumping out to congratulate us. Charlie got down on one knee and finally I understood - he had organised the perfect engagement party to ask me to be his wife. Of course I said yes right away, and we celebrated with champagne and cake surrounded by the people we love.
