Mary and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary.
Mary and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by. We first met in 1978 when we both started working at the local secondary school. I was instantly attracted to Mary's kind smile and warm personality. After dating for a year, I finally worked up the courage to propose. We were married in a small ceremony in the village church in 1980. Over the past 40 years we've raised two children together, traveled the world when we could, and simply enjoyed each other's company day after day. Of course we've also had our ups and downs like any long-term couple. But through it all, our love and commitment to one another has endured. I feel so lucky to still have Mary by my side after all this time. She is my partner in life and best friend. I look forward to creating many more memories with her in the years to come.
