John and I met our freshman year of college.
John and I met our freshman year of college. I was studying education and he was in the auto repair program. We bonded over our love of music, constantly debating the merits of various bands. Soon we were inseparable, whether at parties on the weekend or just hanging out in the dorm between classes. For our one year anniversary, John surprised me by showing up at my dorm room with tickets to see our favorite band, who was playing that night in Portland. It was one of the best nights of my life. After graduation, John moved to Seattle for a job and I followed, and we've been here ever since. Though life has brought its challenges, our love and commitment to one another has endured all these years. I'm so grateful that I still can celebrate OUR 35th anniversary with my best friend.
