It was Christmas Eve and my boyfriend Sam and I had just finished decorating our Christmas tree.

It was Christmas Eve and my boyfriend Sam and I had just finished decorating our Christmas tree. We were admiring our handiwork with a glass of eggnog when Sam asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I jokingly said "Oh I don't know, maybe a ring?" not expecting him to take me seriously. But then he got down on one knee and pulled a little black box out of his pocket. Inside was the most beautiful ring. I was completely shocked as he said "Emily, will you marry me?" With tears in my eyes I said yes and pulled him in for the biggest hug. That was the best Christmas gift I could ever ask for.
