When I saw the delicate gold hoops with tiny gems, I knew they were meant for her. On Christmas morning, Jane tore into her presents with childlike glee. But when she opened the jewelry box and saw what was inside, her hands flew to her mouth in surprise. "Oh my, they're gorgeous!" she exclaimed as I helped her put them on. Jane gave me a kiss under the mistletoe and thanked me again for my thoughtfulness. It was the best $400 I ever spent to see the smile on her face.
