Melissa and I had been dreaming about our wedding day for years. The timing felt especially perfect since Melissa was entering her second trimester of pregnancy. We wanted something intimate with just close friends and family. In the end, we decided on a small ceremony in my parents' backyard in Wisconsin. The weather was beautiful - it was like the perfect fall day was made just for us. All our guests brought various homemade dishes for a big potluck reception. One of my best friends from college officiated the ceremony, which was casual but meaningful. I'll never forget how radiant Melissa looked walking down the aisle with a slight baby bump. Melissa surprised me by writing her own vows that had me tearing up. I'll always cherish the simplicity and love we brought to that special day, where we celebrated our love and growing family.
