Our 9th wedding anniversary found us in a tough spot after Michael lost his job. To lift our spirits, I booked us a romantic getaway at Whitestone Inn, knowing the peaceful grounds would do us good. We spent our first afternoon relaxing by the lake, a welcome respite from our stresses. That evening over a delicious meal, we reminisced about our early days together and all we had overcome. The next morning, seeing the joy on Michael's face as he returned from fishing with his catch helped remind me why I fell in love with him. In the afternoon, we took a horse-drawn carriage ride around the property, taking in the scenic beauty hand-in-hand. Sitting together quietly strengthened our connection. As night fell on our second and final day, we renewed our vows by the water's edge. recommitting to the partner who had been by my side for nearly a decade, through both easy and hard times. The anniversary trip reminded us of what really matters - our love for each other. Returning home, we felt optimistic, grateful for the years past and those still to come as husband and wife. A peaceful getaway was just what we needed to celebrate our resilient marriage.
