As a carpenter, Chuck works tirelessly to support our family but still finds time to play games with the kids before bed each night. For Father's Day, I wanted to show my appreciation for all that he does. I knew a new tool set would be the perfect gift since his old ones were getting worn down. For weeks, our boys and I secretly shopped to pick out every tool Chuck might need. On the day, I had the kids help wrap each item until the box was full. We also cooked his favorite steak dinner together. When Chuck opened his gift, his eyebrows raised in surprise at the contents and pulled things out one by one to examine. I could tell he was already making plans in his head for future projects. The biggest smile broke out on his face as he thanked the boys for their help. Except this, I prepared the couple rings for us. As he slipped on his new wedding band, he pulled me in for a tight hug. I was so happy that a simple gift could show how cherished Chuck is as the backbone of our family.
