It was our fifth anniversary and I knew John had something special planned.

It was our fifth anniversary and I knew John had something special planned. He packed a picnic and we drove to our favorite hiking spot overlooking the city. As the sun set, coloring the sky orange and pink, John got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was speechless at first, then burst into happy tears as I said yes. He slid the ring onto my finger - it was perfect, a simple solitaire. We sat watching the city lights come on below, eating cheese and crackers. I was the luckiest girl in the world to be with such a thoughtful, wonderful man who knows me so well. We've been through so much together and I can't wait to take the next step.
