To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, Richard and I decided we wanted to plan a special trip with our children and grandchildren. It had been too long since we'd all been away together, and a cottage by Lake Windermere seemed like the perfect vacation idea. I loved watching the different generations bond as they spent the days fishing off the pier, hiking through the fells of the Lake District, and roasting marshmallows by the evening firepit. My daughter Charlotte laughed with our grandchildren as they ran around the yard of the cottage, looking so happy and carefree. Seeing the joy and memories being made while surrounded by our family filled me with deep pride and satisfaction in the life Richard and I had built together all these years. This anniversary trip to the lakes was precisely the kind of gift I hoped would allow us all to treasure our family connections and reflect on the journey that brought us to this point in time. I felt overwhelmed with gratitude and love for our family as we spent that special week together in the British countryside.
