I've always been a homebody, so when my friend dragged me to that bonfire on the beach, I protested. But there, talking and laughing with a group, I caught the eye of Joseph across the flames. His smile was warm and disarming. We chatted all night, and I found myself disappointed when it was time to leave. Joseph asked for my number, and our dates began - grabbing dinner after long school and work days, going for walks along the shore. A year passed in the blink of an eye. Joseph's love and patience helped me blossom out of my shell. One summer evening, during a picnic under the stars looking much like our first meeting, Joseph got down on one knee. Through happy tears, I said yes immediately. Three years later and I'm still the luckiest woman - married to my best friend with our future unfolding before us.
