My boyfriend Alan and I share the same birthday. This year for our anniversary, instead of separate birthday parties, we decided to host a joint birthday-anniversary party! We decorated the venue with our shared favorite colors—blue and silver. The two-tier cake was half chocolate and half strawberry, representing each of our favorite flavors. During the party, Alan gave a touching speech about our three years together. Then he surprised me by getting down on one knee! In front of all our family and friends, Alan proposed to me with the most gorgeous ring. I was stunned and of course said yes immediately! Sharing my special day with my soulmate turned an ordinary birthday into the most unforgettable proposal. This is by far the best way we could have celebrated our anniversary.
